These seasonal keywords will tell you what most customers currently, really, really want (a zigazig ah! Ahem, I digress).

Stand by for a broader understanding of what’s happening on Amazon and gain insights to optimise your content for seasonal patterns, growth, and potential niches. Here’s the June 2023 edition roundup of keywords for Amazon.com.

Father’s Day

This annual holiday is coming in hot with ‘Father’s Day gifts’ making an appearance. But what do you buy the man who has everything? It seems imagination is in short supply this year as ‘gift cards’ and ‘Amazon gift cards’ are flying high on the list. For those really cutting it fine, there’s always ‘gift cards email delivery’.

The class of 2023

‘Schools out for summer!’ Deck the halls; it’s time to celebrate our graduates with ‘graduation party decorations 2023’ and ‘graduation gifts’.

We’ve also noticed an abundance of party accessories making their way up the seller lists… ‘bubble machine’, ‘paper plates’, ‘plastic dinnerware set’, ‘reusable water balloons’. ‘snacks’, and ‘candy’ are featured, as well as ‘aa batteries’ and ‘aaa batteries’ for any new gifts that need to function on the day.

Hot to trot

Amazon seems to be the place to go if you want to polish up your appearance with ‘makeup’, ‘press on nails’, ‘gel nail polish’, and ‘hair clips’ all featuring; you can even make sure your pearly whites are at their best with ‘teeth whitening’.

Ensure you glow-up from the inside too, with ‘berberine supplement’, ‘protein powder’, ‘liquid iv’, ‘creatine monohydrate’, ‘magnesium’, ‘vitamin d’ and even a ‘pill organizer’ to keep you on schedule. We’ve noticed a big jump in these terms compared to last year.

Continue your self-improvement by making sure you stay hydrated! Quench your thirst with ‘water bottles’, specifically a ‘Stanley cup’ or ‘Stanley 30 oz tumbler with handle’. You can save some pennies and stay on your macros by taking your lunch with ‘lunch bag women’ and ‘lunch bag’ also on the keyword menu de jour.

Two other terms that made me smile when I spotted them are ‘anti snoring devices’ and ‘ear plugs’, as Americans get smart to a good night’s sleep.

Things are heating up

We love it when summer starts to creep up on us; long days, balmy nights, and the nostalgic scent of freshly cut grass and sun cream delighting the senses. These search terms demonstrate we’re not the only ones looking forward to spending time in the backyard, ‘outdoor furniture’, ‘outdoor rug’, ‘solar lights for outside’, and ‘garden hose’ are big hitters, not forgetting the savvy shoppers searching for ‘patio furniture set clearance sale’. Who needs the Costa del Sol when you’ve got the Costa del Staycation?

Some of our other favourite summer giveaway terms making a splash on Amazon are ‘womens summer tops 2023’, ‘summer dresses 2023’ and ‘bathing suit for women’; it seems the fashionistas want to be on-trend this year. I wish I had neighbours stocking up on the likes of ‘pool’, ‘pool floats’, ‘water shoes’, ‘chlorine tablets’ and ‘patio umbrella’. Oh, to have a pool next door!

What outdoor kitchen is complete without a ‘mini fridge’, ‘ninja creami’, ‘ice maker’, ‘portable air conditioner’, ‘mosquito repellant outdoor patio’ and toys like the ‘Blackstone griddle’?

Sun loungers are calling

Covid be gone! America is ready to go on vacation again with ‘travel must haves’, ‘packing cubes’, ‘luggage’, ‘sunscreen’, ‘makeup bag’ ‘beach bag’ and most importantly, if you’re flying long haul, ‘compression socks for women’ (men don’t be deterred your flight safety is important too).

Also, before you nip off on your vacay, ensure your home is safe with a ‘ring camera outdoor wireless’.

Pandemic pets

Pets keywords are still featuring in the top 300, but many of the terms have seen a drop in ratings since the pandemic, ‘cat tree’ being the top pet term, with ‘dog bed’ not far behind, as pets get a refresh on their surroundings. ‘Cat litter’, ‘dog treats’, ‘dog food’, ‘dog toys’ and ‘cat toys’ have fallen out of the top 200.

Stay tuned for more fun keyword round-ups from our team. If you need account assistance or an Amazon consultant (whether you are selling iPhone accessories, summer camping equipment, or anything at all!), please contact us with questions.
